The existing eight story residential building is a prominent, large building in the area in South Kensington, which towers of most of its neighboring structures in both height and bulk; therefore, a potential roof or side extension could have been contentious. Extending the existing to span the entirety of the existing building increased the available living space and value of the property, creating four separate one bedroom apartments. Planning permission was granted in late 2014.
